Our Vision in Electromagnetics

During the last two decades, the electromagnetic near field has emerged as a pivotal component in technology developments across a wide range of disciplines, fueling innovation and facilitating breakthroughs in areas that include wireless communications, power transfer, materials science, biomedicine, and nanotechnology. In the forthcoming decades, the imperative to be able to effectively control and utilize the near-field will continue to escalate. IT’IS is dedicated to further expand its unique competencies and laboratory infrastructure in measurements and computations of the electromagnetic near field, spanning from direct current (DC) to light frequencies.

 

IT’IS for Health: Our Vision in Precision Medicine

Precision medicine is redefining the future of healthcare by improving the effectiveness and outcomes of treatments and reducing the therapeutic burden. By leveraging each patient's unique genetic, genomic, and clinical profile, individualized treatments and accurate predictions of patient-specific responses will hopefully soon become the standard.

As a result of the burgeoning progress in genomics and pharmaceutics, as well as in the disciplines of biology, medicine, and engineering during the last two decades, IT’IS has continually adapted its innovation engine to contribute to the field of precision medicine by applying its expertise in computational life sciences and physics-based simulations of biological processes in collaboration with various national and international partners. IT’IS is dedicated to bridging the gap between bench and bedside by developing multi-physics, multi-scale simulation tools and approaches to optimize individual diagnostic, treatment planning, and therapeutic techniques, and to model interactions between physical agents and complex biological processes and structures.

IT’IS engages with various partners and offers its distinctive engineering and modeling competencies to clinics, bench laboratories, and other R&D groups, recognizing that rapid progress and the expansion of meaningful research hinges on the collaboration of teams with complementary expertise. IT’IS remains committed to continuously expanding its collaborations with a wide range of national and international partners.
